Vote to pass a bill that provides for a broader definition of “contributions to a candidate,” requires persons who make disbursement for the direct cost of producing and airing electioneering communications in excess of $1,000 to file a statement with specified information within 48 hours, and clarifies the information needed to be included in certain campaign finance reports. The bill also increases the amount that corporations, trusts, incorporated associations, limited partnerships, limited liability partnerships, or manager-managed limited liability companies can contribute to political campaigns each year to $2,000, provides that judicial candidates disclose certain information about specified loans, and revises penalties for violation of specified laws.
