Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that amends statutes related to the collection and utilization of education data, including a repeal of the prohibition on utilizing data from the California Longitudinal Teacher Integrated Data Education System (CALTIDES) for teacher evaluation.

Highlights:
-Repeals the prohibition on the utilization of data from the California Longitudinal Teacher Integrated Data Education System (CALTIDES) for teacher evaluations, thereby allowing the data to be utilized for decisions related to compensation, promotion, sanction, or other employment related issues (Sec. 2). -Requires the working group organized by the State Chief Information Officer, when establishing their strategic plan for education data to be submitted to the Governor on January 1, 2010, to identify specific procedures and policies that would facilitate the sharing and transfer of data from one segment to another and ultimately include linkages to workforce data (Sec. 4). -Authorizes the use of federal funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 ("stimulus bill") for statewide data systems to fund the working group organized by the State Chief Information Officer (Sec. 4). -Requires the California Education Information System be maintained in compliance with any federal or state law that can be interpreted as protecting the privacy and confidentiality of individual pupils or certificated personnel (Sec. 1).
