Title: Gaming Law Amendments
Vote to pass a bill that legalizes the operation of table games and provides related regulations.
-Imposes a one-time authorization fee of $15 million for Category 1 and 2 slot machine licensees seeking to conduct table games (Sec. 8). -Imposes a one-time table games certificate fee of $7.5 million for Category 3 (resort hotel) slot machine licensees seeking to conduct table games (Sec. 6). -Imposes a tax of 12 percent of the daily gross table game revenue on each holder of a table games operation certificate, the proceeds of which will be deposited into the General Fund (Sec. 8). -Imposes an additional local share assessment that ranges between 1 percent and 2 percent of gross table game revenue, depending upon the type of facility and the type of county, city, or township, with one exception (Sec. 8). -Provides one exception to the local share assessment percentages in the previous highlight for a second class township in a third class county with a population between 200,000 and 260,000 hosting a thoroughbred racetrack where the licensed facility and all attached or contiguous acreage owned by the licensed facility is located in more than one second class township, for which the local assessment shall be a fixed sum of $120,000 annually (Sec. 8). -Revises penalties on licensed gaming entities, individuals who hold controlling interests in such entities, subsidiary companies of such entities, or any officer, director, or management level employee of such entities for violations of campaign contribution prohibitions by including the following additional penalties related to table games (Sec. 9.4):
