Title: Delaying Paper Ballot Requirements
Vote to pass a bill that extends the deadline by which the Tennessee Voter Confidence Act must be implemented from the November 2010 general election to the November 2012 general election.
-Extends the deadline by which each county must use a precinct-based optical scanner voting system (which allows for the counting of paper ballots) from the November 2010 general election to the November 2012 general election (Sec. 1). -Extends the deadline by which voting systems purchased or leased must use precinct-based optical scanners from January 1, 2009 to August 1, 2011 (Sec. 2). -The text of this bill was replaced by a substitute amendment sponsored by Rep. Craig Fitzhugh.
